The aim of this course is to develop knowledge of the travel and tourism industry and to provide appropriate vocational skills to enable high quality service to customers in a wide range of tourism and travel organisations.
OTHER INFORMATION Learners will have the opportunity to study languages as part of their course. Study visits will also be offered.
COURSE CONTENT A selection of core units includes:
Structure of the Travel and Tourism Industry; Marketing; Providing Information on the Scottish Tourism Product; Customer Care.
A selection of optional units includes:
Optional units in Spanish, French, German and Italian are offered in addition to other options relevant to employment in the tourism industry.
ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS One Higher Grade pass at grade C or above, normally English or a relevant alternative and two other passes at Standard Grade (or equivalent) at band 3 or above; or completion of a National Certificate including Communication Higher and appropriate subject modules.
