If you have already recently achieved a HNC Computing consisting of 12 or more Higher National Credits and wish to progress directly to the 2nd Year of this HND programme, then it may be possible to engage in additional units to complete the group award requirements. To achieve the group award candidates should hold a pass in a minimum of 30 credits - to include all mandatory units and appropriate optional units.

The second year of the HND programme will continue with more advanced work on networking (Networking Technology, Routing Technology), operating systems (Client Operating Systems, Network Server Operating Systems) and Professional Issues and a major technical support project which will be graded.
ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS As stated above to enter directly into the second year certain criteria of attainment should be met. Further enquiries are welcomed by the Course Leader.
Successful completion of this course will prepare you for posts in Networking and Desktop Support as well as provide you with the entry qualifications for direct entry into 2nd / 3rd year of a range of BSc degree programmes at: University of Strathclyde Glasgow, Glasgow Caledonian University and the University of the West of Scotland.
