KEY FEATURES

This course is designed for hairdressers seeking an advanced certificate which will develop their creative hairdressing skills, technical knowledge and give them the opportunity to design and create hairstyles. The course also includes building a portfolio which will involve the learner using computer aided design skills as well as their selling skills.

COURSE CONTENT
A selection of core units includes:

Creative Design in Hair Cutting; Colouring, Incorporating Colour Correction and Innovative Design; Communication.

A selection of optional units includes:
Long Hair Design; Managing a Small Business; Alter the Shape of Hair by Temporary and Permanent Techniques.

OTHER INFORMATION
Learners will be required to buy relevant items of professional equipment essential to the course.

ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS

Successful completion of SVQ/NQ Hairdressing Level 3 or equivalent NQ units or a minimum of 5 years industrial experience.

PROGRESSION

On successful completion of the course, learners could fill the challenging role of operating a small business, apply for employment on board cruise liners, apply for lecturing posts in Further Education or as a Company Technician/Trainer.  Learners may also apply for entry on to HND Make-Up Artistry.
