KEY FEATURES This course provides a variety of Holistic therapies and related subjects. The subjects are studied to practitioner level for employment or entry to higher level courses. Qualifications gained will enable learners to obtain professional membership and insurance or employment within the field of Complementary/Holistic Therapies. Learners participate in a one day workshop at Peebles Hydro towards the end of the course and are encouraged to participate in demonstrations that arise throughout the course to aid development.
COURSE CONTENT A selection of core units includes:
Prepare for and Provide Body Massage; Assess the Client and Blend Oils for Aromatherapy Massage; Assess the Client for Holistic Treatments; Prepare for and Provide Reflexology Treatment; Information Technology Applications.
ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS There are no formal entry requirements for the Level 3 Diploma in Holistic Therapies; however learners require demonstrating commitment to and having an interest in Holistic/Complementary Therapies. A level of interpersonal skills is desirable to enable them to be successful on the course. A standard grade (or equivalent) in Biology is desirable but not a necessity. An interest in working with people and a high level of personal presentation is expected. Entry to the course will be upon successful interview with the Course Leader.
Learners who successfully complete the course may apply for the HND Complementary Therapies. Other HND courses may also be available. Employment can be obtained as an Aromatherapist, Reflexologist or Massage Therapist within Complementary/Holistic therapy practice or Health and Leisure Spas, or learners can become self employed.
