KEY FEATURES
This course prepares learners for a career in the dynamic retail industry, allowing them to develop the necessary knowledge and skills to progress within the retail sector.  The qualification helps to provide the underpinning knowledge for SVQ in Retail Operations at Level 3 which can be undertaken in the workplace. A combination of case studies, projects and assignments are used in the continuous assessment process, and there are no examinations.

COURSE CONTENT
A selection of core units includes:
Retail Environment, Stock Presentation, Retail Security, Stock Management, Retail Law, Graded Unit 1.

A selection of optional units includes:
Principles of Retail Buying; Fashion Merchandising; Marketing Practice: An Introduction; Personal Enterprise Skills.

ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS
Higher English at grade C or above (or alternatively a relevant Higher may be accepted) and two other passes at Standard Grade (or equivalent) at band 3 or above; or completion of a National Qualification including Core Skills Communication Higher and Computing; or an appropriate SVQ.

PROGRESSION

Successful completion of the course can lead to employment at a junior management level within the retail industry. It also allows progression into 2nd year of the HND Retail Management Course.
