KEY FEATURES This course is designed to meet the needs of learners who wish to pursue a career in the advertising & public relations sector, or to continue study progression to higher level courses. Continuous assessment is used throughout the course. Practical elements such as advertising campaign materials and public relations media products are integrated into course assessments and learning activities. Current industry practice and examples are implemented. Learners will create their own PR Consultancy and follow an actual live brief. This will be implemented to appropriate audiences including local media.
COURSE CONTENT A selection of core units includes:
Advertising; Public Relations; Media Studies; Marketing; Marketing Research; Image - Brand and Packaging; Press and Magazines; Digital Media. A selection of optional units are also available.
ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS A minimum of three passes at Standard Grade (or equivalent) at band 3 or above, including English. In some cases a combination of modules and Standard Grades will be accepted. Good communication skills are essential.
Successful completion can lead to employment at a junior level within the advertising and public relations business. It can also lead to further study in a range of HNC/D courses within the School of Commerce.
