KEY FEATURES
The aim of this course is to provide learners with a broad range of skills and knowledge necessary to ensure a wide range of employment opportunities and/or progression to further study. The course will develop a range of specialist IT skills together with project management, research and planning skills.

COURSE CONTENT
A selection of core units includes:
IT in Business - Advanced Word Processing; IT in Business - Advanced Spreadsheets; IT in Business Advanced Databases; Office Management; Business Information Management; Project Management; Developing the Individual within a Team; Presentation Skills; Administration and Information Technology: Group Award Graded Unit 2 and Group Award Graded Unit 3.

A selection of optional units includes:
Human Resource Management; Creating a Culture of Customer Care; Economics; Marketing; Shorthand as a skill. Learners also have the opportunity to undertake Advanced ECDL or Microsoft qualifications with timetabled tutor support.

Successful learners may gain entry into 2nd or 3rd year degree programmes at university. The degree courses that articulate with this course are BA/BA Hons Management, Technology and Enterprise, BA/BA Hons Business at Glasgow Caledonian University; BA Information Management and BA Human Resource Management at the University of the West of Scotland.  Successful learners have also gained employment as Personal Assistants and Administrators in the public and private sector.
