The AAT was established by the senior British accounting organizations including ICAS, ACCA and CIMA. Its purpose was to provide a professional body for people working in accountants offices, industry, commerce and government agencies who are engaged in various forms of accounting, or accounting related work, at the technical level. The AAT gives formal recognition to their skills through an education and training course which accredits their many capabilities.
AAT is also ideal for those entering the accounting workplace from school, or from another type of employment, and who wish to acquire knowledge and understanding of accounting, with training in the production of various financial reports, at the same time as learning their new jobs. Full details about AAT are available on their website: www.aat.org.uk
