KEY FEATURES

The aim of the course is to develop the practical professional competences required to work effectively within the Beauty industry, and or progress to more advanced study.  Assessment will be continuous and on-going in the form of case studies, projects, short answer/restricted response questions as well as observation of practical performance.

OTHER INFORMATION
Learners will be required to buy relevant items of professional equipment and clothing essential to the course. Extra curricular activity includes additional short certificated courses in Fake Tanning, Nail Art, Make-Up as well as visits to trade shows.

COURSE CONTENT
A selection of core units includes:
Beauty: Facial Techniques; Beauty: Facial Treatment Packages; Beauty: Current Creative Make-Up Trends; Body Massage; Depilation; Eye Enhancements; Nail Finishes; Acrylic Nails; Face and Body Electrotherapy: An Introduction; Commercial Experience; Research Skills; Causes and Prevention of Disease; Introducing Biological Cells; Animal Physiology; Communication (Intermediate 2); Communication (Higher).

ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS
Four standard grades or equivalent preferably including English and a Science subject at band 3 or above. Entry to the course will be by successful interview with the Course Leader. Applicants should display qualities which enable them to communicate easily with the public. Due to demand for this course early application is advised.
